genius by AMD to take a single die and scale CPUs from 4 cores to 32, removing massive wafer costs & making use of dies with imperfections... yields must be staggering. they just need to keep improving infinity fabric now. chips have run out of room to get much smaller on silicon... it's multi-thread or go home time. even cooling them is actually not an issue (esp compared to x299 chips).
yea i currently have a ryzen 1700x but i may end up swapping to 1950x at some point. was looking at vega today now that info is out now. waiting for real test to be done but thinking of picking up 1080 ti instead. new gpu seem power hungry on paper
Yeah AMD doesnt have the R&D money to work on keeping the consumption down.. Just glad they have something competitive. If the price is right, its good for them.. I want to see competition again...
