I dont remember reading anywhere, where it said that it was any faster single core performance.. the uplift is from moar cores.. but either way.. if the i3 8100 is basicly an i5 7600 for $150.. thats a decent deal..
many 'single-core perf' vs 'multi-core is the future' posts later... feels bad for all the peeps misguided into an i5 just 2yrs ago, even if it was just for gaming. games launched since then have taken advantage of additional resources (cores/threads) ...just as i'd tried to lay out here, lol. was right, were wrong, yaddayaddayadda, suck it ;P
